    I need help diagnosing

Two weeks ago I rebuilt my cam chain tensioner following the guide given to me on this site (the name of the site escapes me right now) when I took off the carbs to get access to the tensioner, the rubber carb intake boots broke from getting hard and stiff. I ordered more and have just finished putting everything back together.
My bike will not start now. I pulled a couple of the spark plugs to check spark and it seems fine, I have fuel in the carb bowls, and the bike ran great before I tore it apart. The only thing I can think of is that it somehow it jumped a tooth or something while I was working with the cam chain tensioner.

Does anyone have any idea what I should check?

oh one other thing, I did clean the foam air filter. To do this I just poured some gasoline in a bucket and wrung it out a little. It might be a tiny bit damp still. Hopefully that's all this is haha

Did you check for proper alignment of the cams to the crank? It's pretty easy to do and the procedure is detailed in the factory service manual.

Let us know if you have any specific questions (after you read the manual). Also, there are a bunch of threads on this exact subject so you might want to search the archives too.

    Good luck

I would make sure the clamps on the boots are good and tight first. make sure the sync ports have allen bolts inside and they are tight.
You might need to blow some air into the vent tubes for the carbs. Sometimes it takes some additional pressure to get fuel up into the choke circuits, after that it should be fine.

        Hi,

Did you also replace the intake boot O-rings? Are the choke and throttle cables correctly attached and adjusted? Did you put the petcock on "PRI" to let the carb bowls fill up? Are the spark plug wires in the right place?

        Thank you for your indulgence,
