    Gearbox swap?

    Hi .

I've heard a story about the possibility of swapping the gearbox contents of a sixspeed GS550 to a GS 750, in order to make it run fewer revs when cruising.

Does anybody know if it's just a story or know its actually possible?

Bit of a holy grail that for some. The 6 speed box won't go in the 750 without a lot of engineering. I don't think anyone has ever made it work.

If you just want lower revs at cruisng speed then change your sprockets. However, the GS range loves to rev. What one are you on about by the way? I'm guessing 750. She's just coming in to her own at 6k.

The top gear ratio is about the same. The 6 speed just has smaller steps.
