best site to order an exhaust valve?

    Hey guys,
Got the engine back from the machinist and everything went really well. Only one problem. One exhaust valve is no good and needs to be replaced.

I thought about ordering locally but I just can't stand the local Suzuki shop Modern Motorcycle. Anybody who's been there knows exactly what I'm talking about.

What are your suggestions for the best site to order this sort of thing. Boulevard Suzuki isn't bad but it took nearly a month for my last shipment from them to arrive.

I'm looking for an exhaust valve for a '78 GS750

    thanks!

I've always had good luck with MR Cycle (mrcycles.com).

Ask nicely on the forum here under parts wanted and you will be surprised. A used valve will work just fine once ground.

Agree. Bet you can find one for next to nothing.

I sent him an E-mail last night just after he signed off on here at 9:30.
Perhaps he hasn't checked his E-mail yet?

Hey thanks for the tips everybody. I just worked something pretty darn reasonable out with Eric. I want to give him a big shout out for contacting me!

This is the last piece of the puzzle for my rebuild project. I don't have a working highway capable bike at the moment and right now is when I want to be doing some trips so this is helping me big time.

            Thanks Eric!

Did you burn a valve? How's the seat?

The seat is fine. I just had new guides put in as well as the seats and valves done at a machinist. They said there was a defect in one of the valves and they couldn't do it properly. It looked like an impurity in the metal to me. Everything else turned out great. Even have the gasket surfaces trued and the cylinders de-glazed.
