 Tight cam chain tensionerPut the new head gasket in, got the cams positioned and bolted. The tensioner is now very tight, there is no spring rebound. It seems to run OK.Tags: None

 You need to wind up the spring, push in the plunger, and set the lock screw before you install the tensioner. Once it's installed, release the set screw, and the plunger will spring back out. Sounds like your plunger bound up in some way, or maybe it's extended all the way out.Ed
