How do I tell which is the top of the head gasket?
I have a oem Suzuki head gasket for my 78 750/850 hybrid. the head gasket has a white "H" on one side but no "top". The gasket is clearly different on one side with more metal around the bores. How do I tell which way is up?Last edited by Guest; 08-22-2012, 09:24 PM.Tags: None

Anyone with an opinion? I honestly don't know if the picture depicts the top or bottom of the gasket.

My guess is it doesn't matter, however I'd put the lettering up.Ed
To measure is to know.

My OEM servive manual for my 850 states, "Gasket is installed with the wider side of metal ring around cylinder opening toward the cylinder."Originally posted by Hovmod View PostThe side with the wider metal edge around the holes goes down.
