What's the story on replacing secondary drive?

Check for spark at the plugs...................... You had the engine out, so re-check that you have correctly re-connected all the relevant wiring to the coils, ignition switch and igniters.:) The road to hell is paved with good intentions......................................

Yeah..............I realised it was an old post once I'd pushed the button.
Makes you wonder what half these people end up doing, or what the fix was. I guess a lot end up selling the problem onto the next newbie.

next job on that bike is plugging the dern oil leaks.....it's worse than an old harley.2002 bmw r1150gs 1978 gs1000E skunk les pew 1982 GS1100

Good to hear that you were successful with your secondary drive assy, and that the ole girl is still doing fine. Where are these oil leaks? Does it have a really high mileage?:) The road to hell is paved with good intentions......................................

a previous owner had removed the oil pan and used silicone for a gasket. i don't think it's holding up that well. plus it has the standard leaks i think from the cam end area. it'll get a rebuild in the next year or so. ~40k miles.Originally posted by 49er View PostWhere are these oil leaks?
