    Compression readings

I checked My compression on my GS550l and had #1 100, #2 85, #3 100, #4 100. I'm now suspecting valve adj. issues on my hard starts in conjunction with a bad petcock & carbs needing some attention.

I believe this bike has only 30k on it

Adjust the valves, clean the crabs do all of the other maintenance and ride the heck out of it. After a few thousand miles the compression will come up.

make sure you open the throttle all the way as you turn it over. i think this gets overlooked a lot.

I know we're getting off topic here, but this exchange is just too funny (unless of course there are "crabs" and not "carbs" causing the problem)!
