    "Normal" engine noise?

Hey everyone, I just got my 850-750 out for a quick run and she feels real good. Still bedding the front pads and need the rear brake line plumbed so I didnt get a good run. The engine had 79,000 when I pulled the top end and did the 850 barrel swap and a head rebuild. I checked the crank and found zero noticeable end play so I didn't touch the bottom. I am certain I got the valve lash right since I checked it about 5 times. With that being said there is a little noise that sounds like it might be on the left side of the motor. It was there before I took the bike apart and I thought it might be valve train or top end related but I dont think so now that the top end is fresh. The cam chain tensioner is working perfectly and seems to have plenty of more adjust to go. The question I am asking (I dont have the ability to make a video yet) how noisy are the 1978 GS 750's normally and what can I look at for possible sources if any? I will try a carb sync once I find the tools, any suggestions? All of your advice is valuable to me and thank you in advance for your assistance.
