gs 650g gearbox

hi there i just brought a gs 650g barn bike for next to nothing been sitting for 20 years just freed it all up and got it running. however it is poping out of 2nd gear i was wondering if anyone nos if the 650e chain drive gearbox assembly or just 2nd gear would fit into 650g shaft drive as there is only 650e being wrecked here in new zealand at the moment

thanks. i have just pulled the carbs of to give them a clean out to get it runnning a bit better then i will give it a ride and find out. thanks for the help..

Yeah, try to get it running right and maybe it will cure itself of 20 years of being ignored. With decent carbs , this bike will run smoothly in fifth gear at 30 km/hr, so I hope the trans can find and stay in fifth.
