    head gasket flat o-rings question

I'm installing a new head gasket (OEM) and it came with only two
of the four rubber coated washers that go over the outer studs.

Does it need all four? Does anyone have a pair of these for a 550
    I can buy?

They are not available separately on the 79- models but they are
available on the 78's. Are these the same?

Hi Dimitri, Think you need all four and that they would be the same for a '78 and '79 models. Sorry I don't have any myself. Ray

Only the two stud holes at the rear corner of the head are oil passages, right?

True, but they fit one seal on each corner to help keep the clamping pressures even on the mating surfaces at each end. They even put that piddly 6 mm bolt in between them for the same reason.
