    Remove crankshaft nut

My friend pulled the engine from his 1100 without first loosening the crank nut. He can't figure out how to lock it in place to loosen the nut to replace the leaking seals inside the case. Any ideas would be appreciated .

That same hammer-powered hand impact driver that is used on the intake boots and the screws that held the cover over the end of the crank can be used.

Yep, just pull off the piece that holds the screwdriver bits, you will find a 3/8" drive. Use the correct-size socket, give it a couple of whacks, it comes right off.

I did this just a couple of nights ago.

He's given it quite a few good whacks with the hammer. I swear that the nut is superglued to the bolt.
