I would rather trust my bike to a technician that reads the service manual than some backyardigan that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix things. -

78/79 1000 only fit's each other to my knowledge.
not sure on the 80 chain drive but i would think it is different.Comment

Pretty sure all chain drive GS1000 clutchs are identical. Prone to back plate/spring slop noise. The plates are larger diameter than the 1000G and 1100E clutch, but uses less plates.Ed
