Clutch spring torque specs
Hello all. I've searched a couple of times and couldn't find the specifics for my bike, which is a 1980 GS100GL. I've seen 90 inch lbs, but is that figure pretty much universal? The thread it was in never specified what bike it was for. Any help is appreciated. Also, are there torque specs for the transmission cover?Tags: None -
Torque spec is "snug". 90 in-lbs seems a little high.Ed
To measure is to know.

I had no problem finding it in my manual.Hello all. I've searched a couple of times and couldn't find the specifics for my bike, which is a 1980 GS100GL. Spec is 8.0-9.5 ft-lbs, which would be 96-114 in-lbs. 90 would be a little low.

Must be a strong bolt. That's a lot for a 6mm.Comment

Clutch spring bolts stretch threads, so if the clutch has been out a few times, consider getting new bolts.GS\'s since 1982: 55OMZ, 550ES, 750ET, (2) 1100ET\'s, 1100S, 1150ES. Current ride is an 83 Katana. Wifes bike is an 84 GS 1150ESComment
