Start the tear down tomorrow. Got my gaskets and seals in. When I lap the valves I will most likely have to change my shims out correct? This is gonna be a good project never tore into an engine before like this. I have rebuild tractor motors of the late 40's but never a motorcycle motor.

Depends on how much you have to lap, and how neglected the valves were beforehand.Originally posted by Rockgs1000 View PostStart the tear down tomorrow. Got my gaskets and seals in. Most likely you will need some smaller shims.

The head doesn't look to bad got some carbon build up on combustion chamber walls and piston tops but other than that looks in good shape.
