    Are all camshafts hollow?

    Mine are hollow I a wondering if all Suzuki's have hollow shafts.

      Haven't cut one open to check. Or did you mean like a hollow axle, like a pipe, you can look in one end and see out the other?

        I'd say there is a mix of both.

        I've seen some with a tube put inside and welded on each end for when the cam crack's in half.

          They look as though they were machined with a hole running the full length as if they are a pipe.

          A lightening method no doubt.

          Yeah like a hollow axle.

            I believe it's done to strengthen the cam, rather than lighten it actually.

              Norton cams were made both solid and hollow. I snapped one once, but I don't remember which it was.
