Oil cooler plug for engine degrease and paint

So I've got the motor out of the Katana, and the front of the engine has two outlets to the oil cooler. I've got the existing banjo bolts back in the holes but without the cooler lines they don't tighten the hole properly.

Now that I want to degrease, wash, sand and paint the engine I need those holes properly sealed so no rubbish gets into the sump.

What have other people used to plug these outlets with?

wrap some masking tape round the banjo bolts, then some cling film. screw them into the holes

Can you match the threads to a pair of short bolts at the hardware store? If so, use a pair of the old sealing rings from the banjos to seal the galleys.

It is a standard metric thread. Just take one with you and use their measurement device.
