    slippage

Damn! I should have read the label more carefully. I've been running Rotella 15w40 with no problem. Changed the oil today, thinking I was buying the same stuff. Turns out I bought Rotella 10w30. Took it for a spin, and the clutch slips a little under hard acceleration. There went 15 bucks for nothin!

      confident

Maybe I just got a little more "confident" with the throttle today. I'll check my cable adjustments as that is something I haven't even looked at yet.

Replacing the clutch springs might help.

          not slipping

Seems like a cable adjustment did the trick. PO had no play in the cable at all and the lever was hanging up a bit against the perch. I think it was the hanging up that was causing the majority of the problem.
