    Cam timing way off?!

So I have a post a few down from here about a chatter when the bike warms up and I was bouncing ideas off of a guy I work with who builds NHRA race cars. We got to talk about timing and to make a long story short I think my cam timing is way off. See the pics below

And this is what the cam sprocket looks like. About an entire tooth off!

How could this have happened? I don't even know where to start in order to fix and and I can only pray I don't have burnt valves. She starts and runs fine and has plenty of power but after about 10-15 minutes of riding the top end starts making all kinds of noise. At least I think it's the top end...

Turn the crank until the top dead center mark lines up, then look at the cam. You're on the wrong mark.

OK, looks like one tooth off on the exhaust and the 3 on the intake looks like 19 from the 2 on the exhaust?

Move the exhaust by one and the intake will be in the right place?

19 is what is should be according to the manual (and what it is). How would I move them by 1 tooth if the exhaust is still out by one?

Looks like it is retarded by about a 1/2 tooth
