    Broken Clutch Shifter Bracket

Accidentally broke the bracket switching out the old bent clutch shift rod. Anyone have an idea on how to fix it? Should i just hire a welder or (gasp) rig something up?

The bracket is meant to hold a bearing that supports a spring (see diagram http://imgur.com/PA4Vny4 #25/#26)

I suppose using JB weld and a small piece of aluminum with a hole in it aligned with the hole on the opposite side of the case would not be the best idea?

    Anyone ideas?

I think you are in the realm of new engine cases or a talented welder. I wouldn't trust jb weld in that situation.
