    Replacing oil scrubber mesh pads

Anyone ever done this and are there other options thirty years on? Why would they have been removed?
There is oil in the airbox and the plugs have slight white fluffiness on them which I assume is related to the missing pads.

There's bound to be some blow by - a stainless scrub pad should restrain excess. Mine is missing, but no sign of issues, so I left it that way.

They are probably missing because they were lost or just neglected to be reinstalled the last time someone was in there. I put SS Souring material in mine, fills the gap in that channel better, maybe deflects more oil from ending up in my airbox.
