What's involved with increasing displacement on an 8 valve GS750 motor?
I've been plotting and scheming some off season maintenance for my '79 GS750E (carbs, valve adj), and got to day dreaming about what it'd take to make the 750 motor an 850 or 1000. I've read that the GS1000 motor can be squeezed into a GS750 frame, but what would be involved with changing over to larger pistons and cylinders? Any comments, links to tutorials, etc., would be appreciated.Tags: None -
You can install cylinders and pistons from an 850 to have an 843cc engine.
Everything is pretty much "plug and play".

The 850 started in '79 and went through '83, in the US of A.
I have heard that the '79 blocks work best, not sure what the differences are,
but the part number for the '79 block is the same as the '80 and '81, so they should work just as well.

An 8V GS1000 engine bolts right into a 750 frame. Fastest way to HP and the 750 frame is a tich lighter so I've heard as well.Comment
