Have a leak when I park the bike , some oil leaking from that area. Is there a seal or bearing around the sprocket and how do you repair it ? Want to see what I am getting

There could be a couple of things in there leaking. If your bike is the same as the 78'-80's that I've worked on you will have a neutral switch in there that has an o-ring that could be leaking, or your seal around the shifter shaft could be leaking. Neither is a difficult fix. You need to take off the cover, clean everything up well and then watch where the oil's coming from. -
There are three seals there if I recall. The clutch push-rod seal. The shifter shaft. And the final drive shaft.
You might as well do all three if you go in there. You'll need to pull the sprocket to get to two of them if I
recall.
I did all three five or six years ago and its been dry enough since.Comment
