Back cut the tranny for electric shifters?
I've been thinking of purchasing an electric Powershifter like Dale Walker at Holeshot sells. http://www.holeshot.com/. I use the bike only occasionally at the strip. Do I need to back cut the transmission gears?Tags: None -
in a perfect world...yes.
but i have used air shifters on many stock bikes with stock transmissions with no issues. -

You just need to put extra kill time in it. The power shifter does not move the shifter for you you still have to use your foot to shift the bike. I use the MRE electric over air shifter with a MPS kill box. MPS makes a complete system also.
with this system you don't need to get your foot to the shifter to shift the bike. This really helps with the launch.Comment

oh hell i thought he was buying an electric shifter...no air needed.
i tried one of dales years ago and having to get your foot to the peg defeated the purpose for me.
many different ways to go depending on the money you want to spend.
i still like the old style with the brass kill cylinder for non injected bikes plus they are pretty cheap.
i probably have enough parts to make 6 or 7 kits air over air or electric over air.
the latter is better for a street bike and just wire it to your horn button.Comment
