OK, that's exactly what I did last night--rode it around for a bit, let it sit for a bit and tipped it towards me (not on center stand) and I see no air gap in the top of the sightglass, only oil. Sounds like I'm over filled... Any bright ideas for getting a bit of oil out through the fill hole so I don't have to remove the exhaust again???

You need to make sure that you are not tipped too much towards you with the bike, Only a few degrees of angle would look like an overfilled condition , be sure the bike is level.

Just make sure to either clean it really well or buy momma a new one. I found out once what mobil1 clean 5k 5w30 tasted like because i forgot to reattach my oil pressure gauge line on my 60 c10 rat rod when i was priming the oil system after a cam and crank swap and got the oil geiser money shot. Put your bike up on the center stand and check it again. The level will change. When my bike is off the center (mine is checked on the center stand) stand it show the sight glass way full, on the center stand the oil level is a wee bit under the full line.Comment

That made me laugh...very good. I probably would have screwed up and used an almanacOften the seal gets folded in packaging and takes a slight set. A day or two under a few good books, I'm talking proper literature here, no trashy fiction, leaves you less to fight with getting it to sit in the groove. Obviously, European authors for metric bikes.You may need Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky if the kink is bad.

***UPDATE***
When I changed the oil I used the Rotella T (as recommended by many on this forum) and for the first time ever my clutch slipped between 4-5. I asked some of the guys at work who have been riding longer and they say it's because of additives in the Rotella T. Is there a certain type of Rotella T I should have used? Our local O'Reilly Auto Parts only had what's pictured below so that's what I used. I'd love to hear some input on this. Thanks.

Rotella T or the Syn Rotella 15w/40 or the 10w/40 is fine. The additives didn't make your clutch slip. When was the last time you have inspected your clutch? I would do a clutch inspection and probably new clutch springs and adjust it.***UPDATE***
