'81 GS1100E Valve cover oil separator DIY.

I switched out the oil gears for some High Flow GS750 gears which caused my bike to spew some oil out at high revs through the valve cover breather hole. I have pods installed.
I bought an all aluminum kitchen range filter and DIY'ed one. It works

If it still leaks after this mod I bet you have piston blow by which creates a lot of pressure.

Visit my album for more pictures since I can only upload on pic at a time when posting. Maybe it's possible but I don't know how.

Hope that mesh is thick enough to not disintegrate with age. The Suzuki mesh looks thicker than the stuff you choose.

I had the same concerns. They don't make the oil separator from the 81 GS1100E. They do for 82 but it's not the same cover.
I'll keep my eye out for a thicker mesh and redo it. I needed a quick fix to stop the oil from leaking on my boot and clutch foot leaver.

Wouldnt the coarsest steel wool do the trick?? I mean its gonna be oil soaked so rusting is not an issue.
