    GS 1100 engine noise

Last winter I had the head and cylinder gaskets replaced on my GS 1100 ES it ran fine for about 200 miles.
At that point I ran it through the gears to redline a few times and noticed a sound like a bolt in a tin can.
The bike starts and runs fine but the noise is the loudest engine noise at idle now.
It is a tinny sound. Anybody have any ideas. I'm thinking it is a connecting rod bearing. Bike has 29000 miles.

I think he was referring to the timing chain. Have you checked your timing chain tensioner?
