    winter planning: valve stem seals

    Hi all,

Well, after my recent track day, I have been informed my 83 1100 es with about 50,000 miles or so smokes a little on decel. Not 100%sold on the idea of getting into it this winter, BUT if I do, what else should I do (besides the valve stem seals) while I'm in there? Thanks in advance!

Gaskets down to base for sure. OEM gaskets. Lap the valves assuming the guides check in spec. Rings and bottle brush hone if you want to assure the engine is as good as it can be.

I am considering also installing the 1150 cam set i have stored. A bit intimidated by the idea of degreeing the cams.....I might be looking for a hands-on guru in the area to lend a hand with things. I also need to get my "wife's" 305 dream reassembled. Too many projects, too many kids and jobs and etc etc...
