    82 GS850G camshafts

I have an 82 GS850G. When I traded for it there were 23+K on the odometer. I now have 60K on the odometer and removed the camshafts to check the lobes for clearance. The lobes are just under specs. I don't ride hard or beat the bike. Is this considered normal wear or would that 23K be 123K??? Thanks for any help or thoughts.

I've seen (measured) some worn cams before and there have been some reports here from some anal members that measure stuff. Never seen any running problems related to a little wear though. My vote is to throw them back in and ride unless you have some spares laying around or if this bike is your baby and you want to pamper it.

    To measure is to know.

My thought as well. This is my one and only bike. Taking care is good. I may look for a second set just to have spares. Thanks for your input!!
