    Need help with gs1000

So I'm cleaning the engine for my next build and I see this hole directly under the motor mount. I call a machine shop and hey want $50 to patch it. Is there anything immediately behind this or issues that anyone can see? The engine is a 1980 Gs1000 appears no issues otherwise

That's the front motor mount under stator cover, is there anything directly behind that hole? With the way this is going I need another beer

Clean it well, spread some JB Weld on it, select a shorter bolt that won't hit it, call it a day.

Unfortunately someone used too long of a bolt and punched thru the engine casing. Oil is behind there, so yes a bad thing if it goes all the way thru. Lots of guys have done just what Steve suggested and had it work fine for years.
