    Clutch/gears

Finding it difficult to select neutral sometimes also when in neutral a bit clunky going into first gear, could this be selector forks and do both generally go at the same time.If they are gone can they be replaced without stripping engine.Conan

Shift fork changing requires splitting the engine. Just open your factory manual and take a look at what's involved.

More likely the issue is related to excessive clutch drag. Did you adjust the clutch to reduce free play and then see if that helps? If not then I'd plan to check the clutch plates to be sure they are flat...or just replace them. Both steel and fiber.

On my old GS1000 the clutch would drag making it difficult to find neutral. After replacing the clutch plates the issue completely went away.

When you say adjust the clutch do you mean the cable.I've replaced the cable and have no play in it at all

No play at all? Clutch cable is too tight, has to have some play to keep the clutch from being engaged all the time.
