    Oil cooler question

Just to confirm - I'm fitting a GS1150 oil cooler on to my 82 1100E

I have via a member here the following 1150 parts

    oil cooler and bracket
    oil lines and banjo bolts
    gs1150 oil filter cover

    anything I'm missing ??

I have two bikes with coolers.
78 gs 100 has thermostat to control flow if its cold and the 83 GS 1100e has no stat. I was thinking of using manual hand valve to open or close depending on temperature and the outside conditions , but a stat will do it for you, they can be a little expensive.
Lockhart oil coolers and stats on eBay is a good starting point.

Series r/r can considerably lower your operating temperature on letter bb bikes. I know it works at 100 deg and high humidity (80%)

Houston spring/summer/fall/winter = no thermostat needed

It was 80+this week and we've had 1 frost this year and 3 in the last 2 years

The 750 oil pump gears increase oil flow by overdriving the pump. Some guys like this when running external head oilers and/or an oil cooler since the extra plumbing will create pumping losses. If your head/base gasket is weak though you may get oil leaks.
