Piston rings for 83 gs1100e

I need to get new o rings for #4 piston but I found two sizes? How do I know which ones I need?
The bike was for North American market but not sure what was done to the motor if anything.
How do I know if its a model D or Z?
Frame and body seem to be D type but motor seems to be Z type?
I tried using gear clamps to reinstall cylinder block and almost had it together and then I went to far and popped out the corrugated ring from piston which stretched and wont fit back in. and then number 2 ring broke in half from just moving it, I was not even trying to remove it.
And I tore the new base gasket when removing the block off again.
Not a good Saturday night, I was planning on having the bike running today but now I'm even further back then before.

You need to determine if your pistons are stock or oversize. The info you posted clearly shows the part number for each size. Measuring the pistons with a pair of calipers would help. Also look at the piston crowns. Typically oversize pistons will have .5 or 1.0 stamped on the crown. If you have Wiseco pistons though that won't be the case.

I measured the piston and it was 71.9 and with-in service limits and is the STD size.
I'll order the STD ones.

Be sure to deglaze the bore with a bottle brush hone, not a three stone type hone. 240 grit works well but you can go up to 320 due to the type of rings involved.

Bottle hone is the one with the small balls on it, is it also known as hone brush?
Should I be looking at 2"-4" dia. hone?
cylinder is approx. 2 3/4" dia.
Do I use the honing oil?
Sorry for all the questions but I need to do this right and learning as I go.

It says I can use 10-30 motor oil as well?
hone oil is cheap but the shipping is not.
I'll buy it if it is worth it but even the engine hone site says its ok but recommend their oil?
Any thoughts and trust me I'll do what ever is right.

BTW 2 7/8" hone is needed for my engine.

I'm just ordering hone tool now and will follow their procedure. Engine oil it is then.
