I hear a ping a split second after shifting. It sounds like a spring snapping against the case. It doesnt do it all the time. Shifting also feels a little stiff mostly from neutral to first.

Since this is a new to you bike... I'd try fiddling/replacing clutch cable (oem is best) and hope that problem vanishes as you ride. The old cable might be stretching and releasing. If you're ambitious, pull the clutch basket and have a peek.
