Any suggestions for replacing Final Bevel gear on a GS1100 G shafty?? Part 24911-49001 Final bevel gear set Discontinued. Only need the first one (smaller) that sticks out of the front of the gear case. Checked ebay, probably have to try and find a used final gear case. Tip snapped off, probably to many push starts.

Was it just the threaded tip that snapped or the spline as well?

That gear part is available NOS via an ebay seller...http://www.ebay.com/itm/24911-49001-...tWaayd&vxp=mtr

Swapping in a new/used final drive unit would be way easier and cheaper than fixing your old one.

This one from an 850 is same as yours, and the seller claims it's off a 10k mile bike. Price is cheap enough too...http://www.ebay.com/itm/1980-Suzuki-...FUvoLS&vxp=mtr

Alan, Looks like it snapped right at the base of the of the splines just before where the threads start.

Ed, Yes i found that ebay part last night and messaged the dealer to verify part with a better picture, but I am def. leaning to buying the whole housing.. as you said, way easier!
