Just pulled the engine and want to replace all the gaskets and get everything done up right. any recommendations on a rebuild kit? Also any advice when doing this or any problems i should look out for? This is my first build been learning a lot so far and any advice would definitely help.

Ambitious! Has this critter run for you, so you likely know what needs to be done?
JB weld is a typical repair for a broken float post- the post needs to be supported carefully when float pin is driven out. A member here might have a carb to replace it, so consider posting in parts wanted section.1981 gs650L
