PO didn't install breather gasket, any maintenance issues I should look out for?

Short history, bought a 1982 gs850gl with 26k miles for $300, non-running and sat for about 2 years. As I was trying to hunt down the source of an oil leak that appeared to be from the valve cover seal (or lack of), and went to replace the valve cover gasket and check valve clearances, I noticed the PO had re-attached the breather without putting a gasket in. Anything anyone can think of that I should check that could be funked up by not having a gasket in the breather?

Are the oil scrubber pads still in the breather ?
If they got left out as well then you have more oil going down to the airbox, that is assuming the breather hose is still connected.

The oil scrubber pads were not in the right placement, but I didn't see absurd amounts of oil in the air box when I installed the new filter. Will keep an eye on the air box to make sure it doesn't get funded up with oil from the breather hose. Thanks for the reply.
