I was told it was an 82 model?
In the stamping it is gs1100X?
Can I Id the engine from this Number?
It now has g3 cams, came with engine, and I got a deal on a 1166 cylinder and pistons off a drag bike that upgraded,
Paid 200 $, bought rings and gaskets, and been riding it off and on past 15 years.
It sat 3-4 years and this summer I got it back out.
It has taken all summer in spar time to get all the bugs out.
It seems to run really well now that I've changed the baffle and re Cal the carb.
I thought it ran strong when it was in a poor state of tune?
Last jet Change was up to a 127.5, went for a test saturday, temp 50 degree.
As I was leaving a stop, getting close to home, I nailed it in first bout 3k,
At 5-6k ish the rear broke loose, took it to9500 shifted, front came up bout 2in, 9500 again, then time to slow for home.
Now I've had the front to come up a tad before but never broke traction, is this Normal?
Are all 1100s this stout when in proper tune, it was a little Scarry, and unexpected!
I'm sure thE cool air didn't hurt any thing.
Anyway what does that x mean in my number?
Thanks
