    1985 gs1150 engine question

noticed tiny air/oil bubbles coming from the crankcase halves at rear of engine, can this cause engine to run sluggish/rough at times due to fuel/air ratio changes from a leak?

    No.

False air entering the carb/intake system (under vacuum) can cause poor running. The crankcase runs positive pressure and the air can't enter the intake. Better make sure your crankcase vent, located on top of the valve cover, is open otherwise you can have pressure build up inside the cases which isn't good.
