    Hi all!

Greetings from Sunny Guernsey! My first post here, on this awesome forum.

I have been fixing up my 79 gs1000e over the winter, to try to sort out various rattles and rumbles.

Most have been eradicated, and she runs like a champ. However, I still have one metallic rattle which I'd like to share with you wise people.

Jobs done: clutch basket falicon springs, carbs cleaned, mixtures set and balanced, valve clearance done.

I'm super hoping the noise is cam walk, as I understand this is relatively harmless.

    Cheers all!

    Andy

Oh - bikes has 33k miles on the clock, 4 into 1 marshall and Ram air foam pods. Carbs are standard mikuni vm26ss.

Yes to the metallic sound being cam walk.
In the longer video near the start of it i think i hear a bit of an exhaust leak. Nothing major i would just snug up the exhaust collar bolt/studs.
The Marshall exhaust sure is quiet at idle.
      btw, welcome to the site.

Great! Its good to be part of the GS community.
The marshall is quiet at tickover, howls when you gun the throttle!
Thanks for the response Steve. Yep, I sorted the leak the other week - you have good ears!

I won't worry about the cam walk sound, I understand short of machining up some spacers, there's not much to be done.
