Okay, so I pulled the clutch basket, installed 750 oil pump gears and reinstalled using the APE hardened clutch basket nut. All was in perfect order on that side. Pulled the stator side, removed flywheel to inspect the starter clutch. All looked to be in good order, rollers in place and bolts tight. I went ahead and disassembled everything, applied locktight, and reassembled, but there was nothing wrong. Bike is still making a strange muted rattle letting out clutch lever when taking off. Starting to think perhaps chain and sprockets, or maybe loose countershaft sprocket on countershaft...

Springs on the clutch basket rattling? Common on the 1000. I took mine apart, shimmed springs & had it welded back shut.

Also common in the 1100Es, as far as I remember. Could be it.
