    Chains, Chains, Chains

    Hello all,

I'm dismantling an '82 650e, got to the chain and realized it was pooched, I haven't been able to remove it quite yet though to count the links (it's being "difficult"), but the bike already has a 530 chain and sprocket (45-530), is this OK as the original was a 520?

Buying a new chain has been confusing as every vendor has multiple options and varying fitment suggestions so I'm asking for some clarification on what to look for specifically. I understand the difference between O/X rings, but lost for most of the rest. The web has told me the original chain was 106 links (TAKASAGO RK520GO), how many links fits a stock setup and how much play do you have with the adjusters at the back for more/less links?

    Thanks in advance.
