I'm about to embark on a long trip so It would be good to prevent any catastrophic failures should I just replace the clutch? if so what's a good brand? EBC?
Strange issue, could be clutch going bad?

Strange issue, could be clutch going bad?
on my gs850G If I really get on the gas, let's say on an on ramp the engine will rev up steadily accelerating until about 5k then the engine will keep reving without much more acceleration then when it nears the redline the bike will surge forward. Its always done this and honestly its kinda fun but I'm starting to think that it might be getting worse and my friend suggested it might be my clutch going bad. There aren't any other signs of a bad clutch besides that the wheel will still spin a bit if the bikes on the center stand with the clutch pulled in.

I will second the vote for springs. No "kit" that I know of, just order six springs and a clutch cover gasket.
Springs (item #15) are $3.43 each, you will need six.

The gasket (ironically also #15) is $8.60, but you only need one.

While you have the springs out, remove a few of the disks, measure the thickness of the fibers.
Chances are that you won't need them, but at least you'll KNOW their condition.
Don't forget to enter the promo code for $4.99 shipping.
