    Baaaahhh. What is happening

Ok so the other day i went for a drive.
on my1982 gs1100 and. I would give it gas and it would be revving but not getting power to the wheel then all of a sudden it would. Jump in rpms and shoot off then. I got home and now when i put it in gear and release the clutch it lurches forward and tried for 3 hours and it doesnt matter how little. Or much gas or how slowly i release the clutch it lurches

My Best Guess is your clutch is slipping, badly.
New Cable is a good idea, but probably going to need new clutch springs, new clutch drive plates and, maybe steel driven plates (but not likely) as well. You'll know more once you get the clutch cover off. With the bike on the side stand, you shouldn't lose any oil, but you are most definitely going to need a new gasket. I'd go with OEM for all. Post pics of you clutch plates when you get them out.

On the other hand, it's been said that the use of an engine oil that not MA rated could cause the plates to slip under load instead of grabbing like they should.
