    1977-79 GS750 head gasket variations

    Hey everyone,

im looking to replace my weaping head gasket on my 78 GS750. Looking through OEM head gaskets, I noticed Suzuki only offers the multilayered steel head gasket with the bolt hole in front of the cam chain tunnel. What gives? My engine doesn?t have the bolt hole so I?m afraid that won?t work with my engine. I?d prefer to use an MLS gasket. Does anybody know if Suzuki ever offered an MLS head gasket that doesn?t have the bolt hole?

    Thanks
    Matt

That gasket will work fine. It will stick out in the front is all. Trim off the protruding section if it bothers you (that's what I'd do.)

OR, buy one off ebay. This one is hard to pass up...https://www.ebay.com/itm/Suzuki-NOS-...EAAOSwamBbVfhg

Excellent! Thank you Ed. I’m glad it’s ok to just trim the MLS gaskets
