8V 750/850 top end swap

I have read about it but can?t find it anymore.
The first gen. 850 cylinders should fit the 750 (8V) casings.
But what was that little detail about clearance; was it a problem with the second gen. 850 ?
Or do the first gen. also need to be cleared ?
I don?t want to grind the loaded cases and i am to lazy to split the cases.

It's a bit of a lottery I think. I did that conversion before and had to open up the cases slightly to get barrels to fit. Others have not need to.

I got a cilinderblock from ?79 and it had interference.
Not shure wich year the casings are.
Just the last inch or less on the front half circle of the cilinders and a bit on the rear corners of 1 and 4.
