    Aluminum Engine Cleaning

Has anyone ever tried using this stuff to clean the white oxidation and crap off their engine? Does anyone have any experience with this Aluminum Jelly at all? I want to give it a try, but I need some opinions first. Will it harm my engine?

I have not tried this product. Doing a quick search on the web there
seems to be mixed feelings about it. I don't think it will do any harm to
engine parts but keep in mind there is no subsitute for elbow grease.

If your aluminum parts still have the clear coating on them, then this
product will not work. The corrosion you see is under the clear coat.
Thus the clear will have to be removed first....i.e. elbow grease.

You can do a search on this forum for that procedure as it's been addressed
    at length.

    Good luck.

I used a product made by the same company, loctite, called Naval Jelly. My guess is it's the same stuff. Did a good job cleaning up an old Honda CB450 engine. Did the job at the spray car wash early one morning. Keep it off the paint and BE SURE TO WEAR SAFETY GLASSES. It contains phosphoric acid, which I understand can be very damaging to your eyes.
