82 850g body parts on an 80 850 g ???

Hi Guys, I'm wondering if all body parts (tank, fender,side covers and tail fairing)from a 1982 850 g are going to fit on my 1980 850g without too much modification ? Thanks for any input

Take a look at one of the online parts fiches. It looks like Suzuki changed everything in 82.

No. Totally different.

Fenders front and rear will fit. Tank certainly won't. Sidecovers are entirely different.

I'm assuming both 850's are regular models and not L models. An L front fender won't fit a standard and viceversa.

Almost made that same mistake on my '82. They switched mounting methods on the tanks between 81 and 82 on the G models (dunno about the others). The 82+ models have 2 flanges that come off the back and bolt into the frame rather than one flange that drops down from the bottom of the tank.

83 model body parts ought to fit, if that helps.
