1983 GS1100E NOS Side covers FOUND!

There is definitely something wrong with me. I was searching Fleabay for parts to my project bike that is a long way from running. I found a pair of what the seller claims to be are NOS side covers in black. Only $174 each.

Now here’s the crazy part. I bought them!!!

Someone please tell where I can find the nearest GS anonymous support group.

I’m excited and will post pics when they arrive. Well that’s if my GF doesn’t kill me first. Maybe I should hide the bullets for her pistol.

    Wish me luck.

Here are the links to the Ebay listing.

Who would have guessed that these were still laying around. I have not yet chosen a color for my bike when done, but now leaning towards black.

Leaning towards BLACK??? NNooooo, find a happier color. Black is for those slow, drab, dank Harleys. Suzuki's need something quicker, peppier, happier, cooler, nothing dark & dank !!!.

Fine, then I need to find a good painter. Can't chance my new side covers getting covered with a fizz can job. Original color of the project is blue, but is to far gone to save. I'm really thinking of switching it to red like my long gone 1100e was.

If the project is the orig "83" GS 1100 "E" blue, like mine, it needed changing before it left the factory... My "83" GS1100E is the ugliest bike I've ever owned!!! But Madbike, if you like black, go for it... It's just me & has nothing to do with what others like.

I know what you mean. I am currently waiting on a set of 1150 side covers that I purchased from across the pond.Funny thing is.I don't even need them. But I'll have them for someday.

Funny about "someday"... I have a NOS fuel tank, and like new sidepanel that have been patiently waiting for years to end up on my 1150.... right now it would be the auto equivalent of putting a new hood and fender on an otherwise tatty looking car...

Tell her they are required to run the bike. She'll probably believe it.In summer of 83 when I brought home my gs1100e I had already made a deal with Yoshimura to build the engine so I got it home pulled it out and shipped it off. When my wife got home that afternoon I showed her the brand new rolling chassis and I told her the engine will be here in a month,She bought it! 3 weeks later it shows up and 2 days later we went for a ride.To this day I haven't told her.
