I would like to paint my 1982 1100E the gold colour. Might anyone have painted theirs lately and could supply me a modern paint code? My bike was red initially and I prefer the gold. I have nothing to take in to the paint wholesalers to match to. Other than that I'll have to wing it off computer images and it isn't exactly an easy colour to even describe. TIA.

Yes, not easy to describe, but "I" really like it. When the first one got to our local shop we were all trying to describe. I thought for sure, back then, Suzuki called it "Champagne", but today looking it up it says Gold (that doesn't really describe it at all) and Copper Gold Metallic. Well maybe, but for me, the "80" GS1100E was silver... way different than that "82" GS1100E color1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. ZL600 Eliminator, 1999 Bandit 1200S, 2005 Bandit 1200S, 2000 Kaw. ZRX 1100Comment

I recommend the '83 11E red. I have an '82 painted like an '83, and I can't tell you how much faster it is.

Ha, ha. Yes, well I don't want to make it wrong so I may be carrying my tank into the paint place so I can match it up to the red overspray on the bottom! Well: Round 1 did not turn out well. This is called champagne but it needs more gold in it. Sand this down and try again. Really nothing positive to say about this colour. IMG_4924.jpg1986 1150EF

I had an 1100EZ (82) and it was a bronze/silver colour which I really liked. When I resurrected the 650 I painted it the colour of an old Cosworth Mercedes I owned once apon a time. That colour was Smoke Silver and it reminded me very much of the old EZ paint.
