I have a 1981 gs 850 g , the paint is brown with metallic fleck , common color for this year. I need the paint code, it is not on the bike and I can’t find it anywhere on the internet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The color code is 12G, ECLAIR BROWN METALLIC
Sadly, having the code doesn't mean you will find a paint formula. If you find one, be sure to share. Most people take a sample body part to a local paint supply place, and have the sample matched. Paint stores have color computers which get the color close, then the paint mixer dude will tune the computer generated formula by eye after that.Ed
